Stitch Solihull is the brain child of Ana Dugdale. Ana is a craft crazy not quite 30 year old with a passion for textiles. Frustrated that she couldn’t find the high quality supplies she loved locally, and with her personal stash starting to take over at home, she decided to do it herself!
It took a while to find the perfect premises and to choose the very best of yarn, fibre and fabric to stock but the effort was all worthwhile. Stitch Solihull opened in Cedar Cottage at Notcutts Garden Centre in March 2013 and has since gone from strength to strength. To come and visit us, check out the Find Us page.
Ana learnt to use a sewing machine in 2009 after inheriting her mum’s vintage Laura Ashley fabric. She quickly became addicted and soon accumulated a substantial fabric stash of her own!
She added knitting to her skill range after falling in love with a skein of hand dyed yarn and needing an excuse to take it home with her. This was in the Summer of 2012 and she hasn’t really stopped knitting since and now has a yarn stash to rival the fabric one.
Ana also dabbles in crochet, spinning and cross stitch and always has several projects on the go. She even manages to finish one occasionally!
As well as being the person in charge of the day to day running of the shop, Ana also teaches the Beginners Machine Sewing and Patchwork and Quilting classes and loves sharing her passion with other people.
