Winter Sale

We have a wide range of yarns available at just £2 a ball. This includes Bergere de France Coton Fifty which I blogged about beforeand Hjertegarn Bommix Bamboo, a double knit yarn composed of 70% bamboo and 30% cotton. These are both brilliant yarns if you want to get an early start on knits suitable for the spring and summer and are a bargain at over 40% off the RRP!

We have a range of odd balls of yarn also at £2 a ball. These single balls are perfect for small toy or accessory projects or how about using them to make a variety of brightly coloured pom poms? Some of these yarns originally retailed for over £5 so are a real bargain.

If you love your sock yarn, we have Hjertegarn Kunstgarn reduced from £7.50 to £5 per ball. This self striping yarn would look great on your feet or in a shawl. We can even provide you with a free pattern for socks or gloves to get you started.

Finally on the yarn front, we have 50% off all our remaining Stitch Solihull Hand Dyed yarn. I’m hoping to be dyeing some new colours in 2015 so this is a chance to pick up older stock at a real bargain. There’s a wide range of colours and bases to choose from.

If you’re more into sewing than knitting and crochet, we have some old ranges reduced to £7/m or just £1.75 a fat quarter. This includes the quirky Kitschenette, perfect for aprons, oven gloves and other kitchen accessories.

Christmas Competition Results

A huge thank you to everyone who entered our Christmas Decoration Competition. We had many beautiful entries and the skill and passion demonstrated was great to see.

Having so many bright decorations hanging everywhere cheered me up no end on some of the grey mornings we’ve been having.

There could only be one overall winner though, and that was the knitted wreath by Mandy. It attracted so many positive comments and the amount of detail was incredible. Mandy has chosen a place on one of our Next Steps Crochet workshops as her prize and I’m sure she will have a great time.

Don’t forget we are open this Monday and Tuesday for any last minute purchases. We are also open 10-2 on Christmas Eve. We will reopen at 10am on Saturday December 27th with a fabulous sale and yarn from £2! There will also be Stitch and Sip as usual from 11-1.

Merry Christmas to you all. I hope Santa brings you everything you asked for!

Course Schedule January - March 2015

I am pleased to announce that the course schedule for the New Year is now available. It covers the period from January – March and is packed full of exciting opportunities to learn new skills or refresh old ones. Perhaps your New Years resolution is to learn to crochet or to make your first quilt, we can help with all of that and more. How about making a frame purse like this? alt text

You can see details and dates for all the courses on our online store. You can also book online and pay via Paypal. Alternatively give us a call on 0121 314 6888 or pop in and see us. We will have leaflets available with details of all the courses for you to take away and browse. Payment for places is required at time of booking. Our courses tend to fill up fast so if you want your first choice of course and date, I recommend booking early.

I hope to see you on one of our workshops in 2015!

December Update

Christmas is fast approaching. The shop is surrounded by a pine forest and Santa is in residence in his grotto.

I can’t believe there’s less than 3 weeks to go! I’ve still got a few last minute gifts to knit up so I suppose I’d better get a move on.

Gift Vouchers

If you’re looking for the perfect gift for a fellow crafter, Stitch Solihull Gift Vouchers may be the answer. They are available from £5 up and are redeemable against products or workshop places in store. A free handmade gift card is included in all purchases. £30 would cover the cost of any of our beginners workshops so you can give the gift of a new skill to set someone up for a creative 2015.

We can collate vouchers from multiple present givers on your behalf so they can be collected together.
